The massive 15ft by 7ft jigsaw puzzle is in honor of Malaysia’s 65th Independence Day with the collaboration of Puzzle Planet, Taylor’s International School Kuala Lumpur and Intermark Mall.
Puzzle Planet chief operating officer, Prof Dr Jeffery Yap said: “This collaboration is to make this record-breaking feat possible is a great example of Keluarga Malaysia (Malaysian Family) spirit,” he told.
In total, Puzzle Planet contributed 48,000 blank waterproof jigsaw puzzle canvas pieces, where it was filled with illustrations that represent the best of Malaysia.
Four concepts are being developed to coincide with this year's Merdeka theme, 'Keluarga Malaysia Teguh Bersama.' One of these is a hand-drawn illustration of what each state is known for, local delicacies, handicrafts, and iconic Malaysian buildings.
Jeffrey went on to say that the invention is generating numerous deep meanings in honoring Malaysia's independence and to lift people's spirits in celebrating joyously.
