SHAH ALAM - Malaysia recorded 1,847 new Covid-19 cases including seven imported cases and five deaths in the last 24 hours.

Data published by the health ministry showed that with additional five deaths including one brought-in-dead, the total number of deaths in the country are now at 36,285 since the pandemic began.

Currently, there were 26,033 active Covid-19 cases in the country, with 95.1 per cent of patients or 24,752 individuals being quarantined at home.

Out of the total number, 1,204 individuals were hospitalised, with 45 still requiring ventilation support.

The ministry also recorded 2,148 recoveries.

To date, Malaysia recorded 4,806,954 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began.
