Missing helicopter pilot found dead, say cops

SHAH ALAM - Police has confirmed the missing pilot of a healipcoter crash yesterday was found dead Bidor crash site, said Perak Chief Police Datuk Mohd Yusri Hassan.

The victim has been identifies as Tzs Kin Richard Chan from Hong Kong.

The 58-year old was found stuck in the cockpit. There were no traces of explosion, Yusri further said.

"The helicopter and the pilot was found by the search and rescue (SAR) mission team at 9.30am in Chikus Forest Reserve.

"Based on our investigation, there is no any traces of an explosion founded," he said to the reporters at the Bidor police station.

Yusri said the body was been taken to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for further investigations.

"The crash site and the helicopter has been secured to avoid trespassing and the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) will carry futher investigations.

On Sept 11, an Eurocopter EC120B helicopter lost contact after taking off from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang.

The chopper on its way from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang, at 11.37 am, was supposed to land at Sultan Azlan Shah Airport in Ipoh at 12.37pm.

The helicopter which was owned by a private company, was feared missing at 12.16pm by the Kuala Lumpur Air Traffic Control Centre (KLTAAC) at a location near Bidor, Perak.
