KOTA BHARU - Police have taken action against a man who threw an object at a vehicle and road users near the Kijang traffic light in Jalan Hamzah, here.

Kota Bharu police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud said the suspect was arrested at 8.40am when a Kota Bharu police station task force personnel saw the incident during patrol.

He said the police took action after receiving complaints about the incident.

"At first, we monitored the area for 30 minutes but could not find the man "The Kota Bharu police station patrol unit was then dispatched and the man was found," he said in a statement.

Earlier, a video showing a man who was believed to be mentally unstable throwing an object to a vehicle and road users on the road went viral.

Rosdi said checks found that the video was recorded at about 5.40pm on Sept 6.

He said the police managed to arrest the suspect at Kampung Paloh, Pintu Geng, here, and the man was then referred to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital for further action.
