SEREMBAN - Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) are still going solo in facing the 15th General Election (GE15), says Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.

Mohamad who was also BN deputy chairman said it was a decision made by the party and there were no other changes so far.

“Umno is not an individual... Umno is a party, so the party needs to make the decision. Whatever my view is does not matter, the view of the party is important.. So, whatever decision needs to be made by the party and not by one or two people in the party.

"It was decided in a meeting and the highest body is the Supreme Council (MT), so, if there is an agenda in the monthly MT meeting, we will discuss it. We want to evaluate what is said by the Pas secretary-general," he said.

He said this in a press conference after officiating the Merdeka @Komuniti Programme for the Seremban district in Senawang on Wednesday.

Mohamad was commenting on a statement by Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan that the party still considered Umno and all parties under the umbrella of the ummah unity as ta'awun partners (cooperation partners).

Takiyuddin said the decision was made during the Pas Central Working Committee meeting on Sunday.

Mohamad stressed that the preparation of the party was important in facing GE15.
