SHAH ALAM - An eight-year old boy believed to be a domestic abuse victim was rescued after he was found trapped on the window ledge of a condominium building in Ampang, today.

The victim was believed to have tried to escape through the window of the condominium unit on the fourth floor.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said the department received a distress call at about 4.48pm before personnel from the Ampang fire station were despatched to the scene.

He said the incident came to light when a passerby saw the boy and reported the incident to the department.

"We received a report that a boy was locked from inside the room and tried to escape through the window of the fourth floor.

“When we arrived, the door has already been broken down by the condominium’s security guard. The boy was believed to abused," he said.

Norazam said the case has been handed over to the police.

"The Fire and Rescue Department has made sure that the boy was safe and received treatment before handing him over to the police," he said.
