SHAH ALAM - Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) President Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has slammed Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi after stating that his party was willing to wade through floods to campaign for elections if the Parliament is dissolved during the monsoon season end of this year.

The Muar MP said Zahid was willing to “kill” the people amidst the impending floods in order to regain power.

“Last year when the floods came, the rakyat lost RM10 billion worth of properties, 50 deaths and 500,000 were affected.

“Imagine this year, floods and elections?

“Ministers focused on the votes, rakyat dies. This is crazy work!” he posted on his Twitter account @SyedSaddiq.

On Saturday during the BN youth election machinery launch at Stadium Titiwangsa, Zahid stated this if Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob dissolved the Parliament to make way 15th General Election.

"We know there are constraints as by year-end, there will be floods, heavy rain but if the prime minister dissolves the Parliament, we are willing to wade through floods to campaign.

"During the floods, BN youth, Wanita, Puteri will came down more than other parties.

"Willing to come down? Willing to campaign during floods? Willing to campaign during heavy rains? Willing to campaign during typhoons? I want to see who is willing?" Zahid had said during his speech yesterday.
