Thunderstorms are brewing in Perlis, Kedah, Pulau Pinang, Perak, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Johor

SHAH ALAM – The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms in several states, today.

The department issued the warning at 4.50am on Twitter and stated that the stormy weather was expected to occur until 9.00am this morning.

According to MetMalaysia, the states to be affected were Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Johor.

The affected areas in Kedah are Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Yan, Kuala Muda, Kulim and Bandar Baharu whereas the entirety of Pulau Pinang will experience the thunderstorm.

In Perak, the areas are Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak.

As for Selangor, the thunderstorms were expected to hit Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Kuala Langat and Sepang while in Negeri Sembilan the affected areas will be Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau and Tampin.

In Johor, the bad weather will hit Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru.

For Pahang, the forecast thunderstorm will only hit Rompin.
