Warisan, a 'mosquito party' could topple BN

LAHAD DATU – Parti Warisan (Warisan) is confident that it could topple the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) – Barisan Nasional (BN) government like they did during the 14th General Election (GE14).
Its president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said he knew that Warisan was just a small party, but it has proven to have successfully brought down BN in GE14.
“So we are familiar with the situation, without any coalition.
“I was opposed in Semporna from several corners but Alhamdulillah we won,” he told reporters at a social programme with the Lahad Datu parliamentary constituency community on Saturday.
He said this when asked to comment about GRS that had previously stated that they were confident in securing the Lahad Datu Parliamentary seat.
Meanwhile, Shafie said the people have the right to decide which party will be the government for Sabah in the next general election.
"It is not GRS that determines who will become the government. It is the people of Sabah who determine who becomes the government in Sabah and who becomes the YB (people's representative) in the state.
"We are waiting for the people's decision. We are aware that we are a small party, we are a minor party but this party is what brought down BN in Sabah," he reiterated.
