TENOM - Prosecution witness, Mohd Fairuz Abu, 37, has rejected defence counsel's suggestion at the Magistrate's Court here that there was a conspiracy to tarnish the reputation of famous preacher, Ebit Lew.

During cross-examination from lawyer Ram Singh on the second day of hearing, Fairuz said he did not post on the sexual harassment case involving Ebit after a police report was made by a woman on August 7 last year.

"I don't agree," said Fairuz when Ram suggested after making arrangements for the woman to go to Bukit Aman to file a police report.

Meanwhile, during the re-examination by Deputy Public Prosecutor Zahida Zakaria asked Fairuz to explain why he disagree that he played an active role in the case.

"As a facilitator, I suggested to the victim to get in touch directly with the MRM's (Multiracial Reverted Muslims) lawyer.

"So I was in touch with the woman from July 26 and 27, 2021," he said.

Fairuz also explained that he was only present at Bukit Aman to support the woman while testifying to the police on August 7 last year.

Zahida also requested an explanation from Fairuz that he agreed to make arrangements with Firdaus Wong to Bukit Aman to file a police report.

"Me and Firdaus Wong asked MRM's lawyer for information on the woman and her husband to buy a plane ticket, that's what I meant," he said.
