KUANTAN - Umno Pahang is ready and confident in the capabilities of its machinery at all levels to face the 15th General Election (GE15).

Its Information Chief Datuk Seri Syed Ibrahim Syed Ahmad said preparations had been made in line with the intention of state BN Chairman Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail to defend the 25 State Legislative Assembly (Dun) seats won in GE14.

Syed Ibrahim said Umno/BN also aimed to claim the 10 state seats won by the opposition as outlined through the key performance indicators (KPI) set.

"In terms of the capacity of this machinery, preparations are made in accordance with the guidelines established at all levels including the Voting District Centre (PDM), branches, divisions and states as well as the central Umno resolution.

"As the Chairman of BN and the State Umno Chief, Wan Rosdy has come to meet with the grassroots machinery to see for himself his preparation and capabilities.

"His meeting was also arranged with the Umno branch and divisional leadership," he said in the Fikrah Siasah talk show 'Kita Gempur' with Umno State Information Chief which was broadcasted live via Facebook Fikrah Pahang on Wednesday.

Syed Ibrahim, who is also the State Assemblyman (Adun) for Kerdau said all the divisions were explored by Wan Rosdy and through the series of meetings, he had identified in detail the issues at all levels to be resolved in the best way.

"At the same time, he also looked at the party's ability in the logistical aspect that needs to be improved and strengthened to face GE15 to ensure the victory of Umno/BN," he said.

Syed Ibrahim said in order to win comfortably in GE15, party leaders and members need to understand the importance of winning the hearts of the people.

"We have to understand the main goal of Umno/BN winning is not just to see the party in power, but most importantly to fight for the people's voice.

"To win the hearts of the people, all members in the party need to reject personal interests, avoid internal conflict, not create gaps and always unite with one determination to fight for religion, race and nation," he said.

He said the reprimand did not mean that there was an internal problem in Umno/BN Pahang, but rather as a reminder before it happened.

"If this happened, it could affect the party's focus in the run-up to GE15 later.

"That's why we should avoid listening and believing in rumours and instead refer to the right entities for more accurate information," he said.

He said that so far most of the problems raised by the branch leadership and the division was more about the people's issues for solution, not the party's internal issues.

"We see this as a positive matter because this situation proves that grassroots leaders are concerned about the fate of the people.

"It is also a clear reflection of the people's trust in a party that is seen as capable of defending their fate," he added.

Meanwhile, Syed Ibrahim was also confident in Wan Rosdy's leadership in leading the state government which clearly puts the people first without any bias.

"Even though the state government is under Umno, he is fair to all the people whether they are supporters of the government or the opposition.

"This is clearly seen in the distribution of initiatives and aids given directly to eligible recipients regardless of party," he said.
