SHAH ALAM - There are three days left to vote for the World’s Best School Award worth US$50,000.

The vote under the innovation category includes a primary school in Kuantan, SK Kempadang that was shortlisted in the top three list for the competition.

In a Facebook watch video, Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail hoped that every Malaysian would chip in their vote to for SK Kempadang as it is the only school that represents Malaysia in Education’s World’s Best School Prizes award.

“3,000 schools all over the world were shortlisted and SK Kempadang is at the top three of the World’s Best School Prizes for Innovation,” he said.

The award was created to celebrate schools from all over the world that played an important role in developing the next generation of students and their contribution to the progress of society, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is organised by T4 Education in colloboration with Yayasan Hasanah, Accenture and American Express.

The primary school was shortlisted for their novel innovation of an automated tracking system on students’ progress called Smartzoom. It tracks down student learning progress, using data input from Google Sheets and Google Chrome as teachers have a dedicated Google account linked with the education ministry.

The money from the award will be used to upgrade and expand Smartzoom usage to other schools in the country.
