KUALA LUMPUR – The curtain rises for renowned motivational speaker Yasmin Mogahed’s seminar, here, yesterday, which garnered overwhelming responses from Malaysians.

The three-day seminar organised by Faith Events titled ‘Healing the Emptiness kickstarted yesterday and saw hundreds of excited participants arrive as early as 6pm.

During the first day, Mogahed talked about ‘The Divine Connection: Finding Self-Worth in God’ where she touched on what gets in the way of one’s healthy self-worth and the influence of culture in addressing pain or trauma, which was the opposite of Islam’s teachings.

She also mentioned the connection between therapy and the relationship with God and His creations.

A quick questions and answers as well as greet and meet sessions were carried out right after the live talk ended, with excited participants lined up to greet and have their own copy of Yasmin’s book signed.

As the official media partner for the event, Sinar Daily had given away free tickets for five lucky winners from a competition held prior to the event.

One of the winner, Aimi Athirah Abdul Rahman said she was grateful to have won the competition as it provided an opportunity to learn and refresh her knowledge of Islam and self-worth.

Another winner, Redhanuha Abdullah said the input she gained from the talk was more than expected.

Redhanuha also said the event had also introduced her to Sinar Daily’s portal which includes Islamic news and issues worldwide.

She said this piqued her interest to start reading the news on the portal as it could also improve her knowledge on current issues in regards to not only things happening in Malaysia, but also religious issues worldwide.

The three-day seminar called ‘Healing the Emptiness’ is scheduled to be held from Sept 30 to Oct 2.

The event was expected to garner more participants during the second and third day, respectively, which would focus more on trauma and narcissistic abuse, as well as healing and coping with adversity and finding strength in God.

The three-day seminar would be held at Dewan Wawasan, Menara PGRM from 8pm to 10.30pm with various booths filled with Islamic-based products including food, clothes and many more.
