KUALA NERANG - Umno has not ruled out the possibility of collaborating with Pas to face the 15th General Election (GE15).

However, Umno Vice President Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said the final decision will only be finalised after Parliament is dissolved.

He said Umno Top Five will renegotiate with Pas President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang to reach a consensus under Muafakat Nasional (MN).

He told reporters after presenting donations to students of public institutions of higher education (IPTA) at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Kuala Nerang here on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Selangor Barisan Nasional (BN) communication chief Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos said Umno is likely to continue cooperation with Pas in GE15. This comes after Umno President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Hadi had a meeting last week.

However, on Oct 3, Zahid had said Umno will go solo if Pas disagrees to leave Bersatu.

Mahdzir, the Padang Terap MP further said time will determine what will happen to MN even though previously the two parties were bickering over one another.

"Time will tell as to what will happen when the time comes.

However, he said there are two options. "Either BN goes solo or ties up with Pas under Muafakat Nasional," he said.
