One-and-a-half month bonus for Pahang civil servants

He said the one-month salary payment will be credited this year, while the balance will be paid in January 2023, adding that the bonus involved a total allocation of RM33 million.
"The financial incentive is in recognition of the commitment of all state civil servants in ensuring that the development agenda of the state and society can be achieved,” he said when tabling Pahang Budget 2023 at Wisma Sri Pahang today.
In tabling the budget themed ‘Negeri Stabil, Rakyat Sejahtera’, Wan Rosdy disclosed that the state government was able to collect RM1.027 billion in revenue up to yesterday (Oct 6), which he described as a 'very proud achievement' as it was the first time this figure had been achieved.
"The revenue should be returned to the people,” he said adding that the state government has introduced eight major initiatives for the welfare and well-being of the people such as housing so that everyone can own a house.
Besides continuing the existing housing initiative, the state government will introduce the Rumah Mesra Rakyat (RMP) project next year, which offers a 20 per cent discount on RM75,000 houses, and maintain the sale price of Rumah Makmur Pahang and Rumah PR1MA Pahang despite the increase in the price of building materials.
The state government has also agreed to undertake the repairs of 10 abandoned Felda Second Generation Housing Project (PGBF) sites, involving 1,850 housing units priced at RM125,000 per unit, through a joint venture between Pahang Housing and Real Estate Board (LPHP) and a private developer.
For the welfare of the elderly and persons with disabilities (OKU), initiatives being implemented include the Home Assistance Programme with an allocation of RM1 million, government development grant and special incentive for the disabled (RM850,000), special programmes with government tertiary institutions for the disabled (RM1 million) and the purchase of Braille Quran (RM1.2 million).
"A one-off donation of RM250 will be given to 300 supervisors and staff under the Rehabilitation in Community programme (PPDK) in recognition of those who bear this great responsibility," he said.
Wan Rosdy also added that a Pahang Women's Entrepreneurship Development Centre will be set up in Kuantan, Maran, Temerloh, and Lipis respectively, with an allocation of RM1 million.
In addition, free mammography tests will be given to 6,000 B40 (lower-income) and M40 (middle-income) women, involving an allocation of RM500,000 which will also address the problem of poverty among teenage girls during menstruation.
Wan Rosdy said a total of RM12.32 million has been allocated this year to improve the living standards of the Orang Asli community in Pahang.
"Next year, more will be implemented where RM7.5 million will be spent for the construction of houses, implementation of a project to supply water to 33 Orang Asli villages (RM1 million), upgrading of villages (RM1.21 million) and renovation of houses (RM1.5 million).
"The first marriage incentive will be extended to the Orang Asli, with each couple receiving a consolation gift of RM300. The PEDULI Orang Asli programme will be introduced in 2023, with an allocation of RM200,000 to help 50 per cent of Orang Asli students to continue their studies at university level," he said.
In addition, Wan Rosdy also announced an allocation of RM1 million for the Pahang Child Circumcision programme for 3,500 B40 children under the age of 12.
He added that RM42.4 million has been allocated for Bantuan Prihatin Pahang 2023 which will benefit over 200,000 recipients. - BERNAMA
