High tides till Thursday, warns MetMalaysia

KUALA LUMPUR - National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) has issued a warning of high tides till Thursday in five areas.

In the list are Kuala Muda (Kedah), Bagan Datuk (Perak) Port Klang (Selangor) and Batu Pahat and Pontian in Johor.

Nadma said the phenomenon is caused by natural phenomena when the positions of the moon and the sun are aligned, influencing gravitational pull and causing high tides and floods at low lying areas.

"Residents near the coast are advised to be more aware and alert when this phenomenon," it said in its Facebook post.
