GE15: The 12 naysaying ministers stoked disunity in the Cabinet -- Ismail Sabri

SHAH ALAM - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob describes the actions of the 12 ministers who sent a letter to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, begging for the latter not to allow the parliament to be dissolved as undermining the harmony of the Cabinet.

He believed they had turned their backs on the Prime Minister's institution, which was approved by His Majesty, thus eroding the spirit of solidarity in the government.

Therefore, he explained, the dissolution of Parliament was done to prevent the outbreak of disharmony in the government administration.

"This was in reference to the media statement from Istana Negara dated October 10, 2022 which stated His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah, who expressed disappointment over the current political developments of the homeland.

"As I explained in the special address yesterday (Monday), the dissolution of the 14th Parliament is to answer those who have been nagging on the legitimacy of the government; the backdoor government by returning the mandate to vote back to the people," said Ismail Sabri in a statement on today.

He added, even till today, there are a handful of Cabinet ministers who openly criticize the government's decisions and policies.

Ismail Sabri also slammed the actions of PN Chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who declared the main enemy of the coalition is BN.

The move, he said, has led to disunity given how PN is also part of the government.

"Muhyiddin, also the Chairman of the National Recovery Council (MPN), once made a statement recommending that Parliament be dissolved for claiming that the government has failed in managing the country and the economy properly.

"The government is only able to function well through togetherness and agreement in providing the best services and benefits to Keluarga Malaysia.

“The country needs a stable government to handle the challenges ahead," he said.
