SHAH ALAM - The main theme for Barisan Nasional's (BN) manifesto for the 15th General Election (GE15) is "Stability and Prosperity".

The party's secretary-general Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir said it was decided after the BN supreme council meeting on Tuesday.

He said in the meeting, all the party's machinery at the Parliament and State Assembly levels were instructed to be prepared to face GE15.

“The supreme council also instructed the Divisional Coordinating Committee chairman to carry out machinery movement for GE15.

"Discussions on seat distributions between component parties and Friends of BN will be finalised.

"The supreme council agreed with efforts to highlight new candidates who have Winnable, Acceptable and Likeable (Wali) criteria and is determined to field 30 per cent of women candidates," he said in a statement.

Through the "Stability and Prosperity" manifesto, Zambry said BN was committed in ensuring the people's welfare and the country's sovereignity were protected.

This, he said was by offering policies that were pro-rakyat in driving a sustainable and comprehensive socioeconomic development.

On Monday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the dissolution of Parliament to pave way for the GE15, which must be held within 60 days of the dissolution
