PETALING JAYA - Pakatan Harapan (PH) has forged a political pact with Parti Ikatan Demokratik Malaysia (Muda) for the coming 15th General Election (GE15).

Its chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim the decision was made during the PH presidential council meeting which he chaired at PKR headquarters here tonight.

Be that as it may, Muda may not be able to officially be registered as PH's component party yet as its application to do so requires approval from the Registrar of Societies (ROS) which would be completed well after GE15.

"As announced, the committee will continue negotiating and list down a few more matters for the parties' understanding. There will also be subsequent meetings to decide on seats allocation, the use of logo...basically there are no objections," he told reporters.

On matters concerning the possible dissolution of the state legilative assemblies of PH-led states; namely, Penang, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan, Anwar said that PH needed more time to look into it.

"We are still bound by the presidential council's decision. However, the matter needs to be thoroughly re-discussed among the respective leadership in the component parties," Anwar added.

He remarked that PH's central leadership will give ample time for the respective state leadership to weigh on the need to conduct state-level elections simultaneously with GE15.

"This is a huge issue, the parties leadership need to discuss it first. Then it is escalated to the presidential council which will then come out with main framework to be disseminated back to the leadership of the respective component parties.
