SHAH ALAM - The rakyat are told to be cautious of propaganda and incitement to discourage voters from voting in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Amanah Youth Chief Mohd Hasbie Muda said the campaign should be in the spirit of democracy to encourage voters to vote.

"After the dissolution of Parliament on Oct 10, many political machineries have begun their campaigns through multiple media channels.

"We celebrate this campaign in line with the spirit of democracy.

"However, behind the excitement, we detected existence of propaganda discouraging people to vote, claiming they will be wasting their time," he said in a statement.

He said the act was done to poison the thoughts of the rakyat.

"Indeed, the 'don't vote' propaganda must be rejected and ignored because a low voter turnout give BN the advantage to return to power.

"BN's tactic to dissolve the Parliament and have the elections during floods has been successful so don't let the propaganda become another additional strength to BN," he said.
