Where would KJ be contesting?

SHAH ALAM - Umno leaders have been eagerly waiting to see where would former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin be contesting in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Khairy commonly known as KJ has so far said he is clueless about the seat.

“If I knew where I would be contesting...I would not be worried. For now, we have to wait...," he told reporters last Friday in Kuala Lumpur.

KJ who held MP Rembau seat for three terms may have to vacate the seat following Umno's number two and Rembau Umno chief's decision Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan decision to run for Parliament seat.

Mohamad or known as Mat Hasan was previously a Rantau state assemblyman under Rembau. His decision seems logical as he is after all the Umno's deputy president.

He had run for the state assembly seat as he was the Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan before the state fell to Pakatan Harapan (PH) during the last elections.

In a Sinar Harian column, it said that based on the party's hierarchy, Mat Hasan could be the prime minister candidate.

KJ now seems to be 'sacrificed' due to the current political scenario as he shares the same political area with another strong Umno member.

Where would KJ go if he is not given the Rembau Parliamentary seat?

Due to that, it is not surprising if KJ is frustrated with the situation as the announcement for GE15 candidates is just a few weeks away.

Due to that, it is understandable if he is caught in an unfair situation.
