KUALA LUMPUR - Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan gets coy when asked if he is married to a fellow Cabinet minister.

In his response to the rumour, he said his wife was a voter in Malaysia and that a voter is considered a “politician”.

“My wife is a voter in Malaysia, she is considered a politician. A voter is a politician lah,” he answered briefly.

Takiyuddin who is also the caretaker Energy and Natural Resources Minister said this after attending the Forestry 121 Peaks closing ceremony in conjunction with the Peninsular Malaysia Forestry Department’s 121st Anniversary celebration at Dataran Batai, Taman Eko Rima, here, today.

Rumours have emerged that Takiyuddin and a fellow politician were expecting their first child, however Takiyuddin remained silent on who his wife is.

It was first reported in 2021 that Takiyuddin was puportedly married to caretaker Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun.

Meanwhile, Rina dodged a similar question during the Jalinan Mesra Deepavali Prihatin programme at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK) Cina, Dengkil, today.
