DENGKIL - Caretaker Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun has dodged the question over the rumour that she is married to a Cabinet minister.

She instead said she needed to focus on the people.

“We need to focus on the country’s prosperity at the moment. We need to put our attention on them as the Social Welfare Department is under the ministry,” she said after officiating the Jalinan Mesra Deepavali Prihatin Rakyat programme at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Dengkil, here, today.

She said the people who came to seek help through the programme earned less than RM3,000 per month and that applications for help have been increasing.

"I am aware that the application for aid are increasing every month, which means more aids are allocated by the government, but this is not something to be happy about,” she said.

Rather than questioning about her status, she said the nation's future should be the focus and this required the effort of all parties.

Claims that Rina was the fourth wife to fellow Cabinet Minister Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan first appeared last year and once again appeared earlier this year, where continued to deny it.
