KOTA MARUDU - Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) President Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili intends to continue defending its traditional seat at the Kota Marudu Parliament.

This comes after Bandau Assemblyman Datuk Wetrom Bahanda was reported to quit Bersatu for Warisan with the intention of contesting the Kota Marudu Parliamentary seat.

Maximus, the Kota Marudu Parliamentary seat incumbent said the Bandau state assembly was given to Bersatu and there are only two state assemblies under PBS.

"I want to remind specifically the PBS leadership and members that Kota Marudu is our stronghold. Our strength in PBS while the Tandek State Assembly was since 1985 to today, The Assemblyman Hendrus Anding has never lost in PBS," he said during a speech at the Kota Marudu Parliament GRS Tour Programme at the Dewan Komuniti, here, on Sunday.

Maximus said the Kota Marudu seat must remain under PBS, a party under the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition.
