SHAH ALAM - Former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad condemns Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who was caught on video, saying that the party needs to win the 15th General Election (GE15) so that Umno leaders can be saved from gallows of the judiciary.

Dr Mahathir pointed out this will always be Umno's focus in GE15 adding that the party will also strive to get jailed former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak a royal pardon too.

"The case against Zahid and other leaders of Umno/BN will be dropped. This is Umno's hope if they win.

“With that, even the kleptocrat leader can be PM,” he said in a Facebook post.

He said Zahid’s omission of not mentioning more serious national issues in his speech showed proof of his selfish priorities.

Dr Mahathir remarked that Zahid has been silent on issues concerning the recovery of the national economy, elimination of corruption, political stabilization, increasing job opportunities, assistance to the poor and overcoming the problems of the Malays and other races.

Unlike Umno, he also said Pejuang and their allies were not involved in any crime and were fighting for the betterment of the country as a whole.

“Unlike them, Pejuang does not compete to save themselves or to get money,” he said.
