SHAH ALAM - After the initial coy response over his alleged nuptial ties with a fellow ministerial peer, caretaker Energy and Natural Resources Minister Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan now takes a sterner stance over the marital claim.

Attempting to set the record straight, Takiyuddin today denied of ever tying the knot with caretaker Women, Children and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun.

“This issue is personal but let me get this right once and for all; in ten or 15 years prior, I was never married to anybody.

"Ten years, two elections and 15 years equal to three elections. I've never wedded anyone," he told the reporters during a meeting at Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) headquarters.

Talk of Takiyuddin and Rina matrimonial resurfaced -- after a year of hiatus since it was first reported in 2021 -- following claims that the duo were expecting their first child.

Previously, Sinar Daily reported Takiyuddin as having mentioned that his wife "is a voter and also considered as a politician."
