SHAH ALAM – The call for the 15th General Election (GE15) to be held by the end of this year is an irresponsible move by the government as they completely disregard the woes and worries of the people.

Muda central executive committee member Ainie Haziqah Shafii told Sinar Daily that Muda, since day one had been staunchly opposed the GE15 to be held this year amidst the monsoon season.

“We even organise a protest to strictly tell the people that we disagree with such decision made by the government, especially from Barisan Nasional (BN) and Umno who consistently pushed for the election to happen as soon as possible,” she said.

She also claimed that BN would be the happiest to have GE15 this year as it could possibly help some of the party members in their pending court cases.

However, she also said the politicians should be aware and not underestimate the power of the people as they now would be wise enough to make the right decision during GE15.

“The people will make sure BN will not come back so these people (the politicians) would serve their time in court and later, prison,” she said.

Echoing Ainie’s views, Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil pointed out some politicians might use the recently announced polling dates to postpone court trials.

“Some people will want to move their court cases to ensure it will happen after the elections.
