Kuala Lumpur - Amanah Raya Trustees Bhd (ART) joins the ‘Grow and Conserve’ programme in line with Malaysia’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Agenda through a sponsorship worth RM16,391 via a package provided by the National Zoo.

The ‘Grow and Conserve’ programme includes the planting of landscape trees and the sponsorship of a Cheetah known as ‘Bolt’ as a foster animal.

ART Managing Director Ahmad Feizal Sulaiman Khan in his speech said, “The implementation of the programme was one of the company’s efforts to prove its commitment towards business sustainability, also promoting environmental, social and good governance (ESG) practices.”

He added that the sponsorship of ‘Bolt’ as an adoptable animal was symbolic to ART which symbolises the efficiency and agility of business towards more sustainable economic development.

The sponsorship by ART – a subsidiary of the wholly owned subsidiary of Amanah Raya Bhd – covered the cost of food preparation and veterinary care for ‘Bolt’ to ensure that the animal species known as the King Cheetah continued to be preserved and protected from the threat of extinction.

Meanwhile, the planting programme of various types of landscape trees from species of orchids, species of Parrenials and so on is intended to further beautify the public’s focus area and decorate the surroundings of the National Zoo of Malaysia.

The symbolic handing over of a sponsored check worth over RM16,000 was completed between ART chairman Datuk Professor Dr Noor Inayah Ya’akub and National Zoo deputy president Rosly@Rahmat Ahmat Lana, witnessed by Feizal.

The ceremony was also attended by ART Chief Executive Officer Zainudin Suhaimi along with Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Muzzaffar Othman.
