Don't celebrate too much if you are nominated, says Mukhriz

BANGI - Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir reminds candidates of Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) to not celebrate excessively when chosen to represent the coalition in the 15th General Election (GE15).
He said the real victory should be celebrated after the coalition successfully forms a government on Nov 19.
"I hope this announcement is not something that we can celebrate as it is just a candidate announcement, let's not overdo it.
"We have to remind ourselves, today is not the time for us to celebrate since the actual results will be on November 19," he said at the GTA-Pejuang GE15 Candidate Announcement Ceremony at the Bangi Convention Center, here on Wednesday.
He added all parties were also reminded to be open to whatever decision was made by the coalition.
"I hope we are all calm, patient and confident when names are mentioned or not," he said.
Last October, GTA Sponsor Chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced that the coalition would contest in GE15 using the Pejuang flag and logo.
He said it was due to the dissolution of Parliament before GTA's application for registration as a political party was approved by the Registrar of Societies (RoS).
