KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysian Indian Muslim Congress (Kimma) president Datuk Seri Syed Ibrahim Kader considers his candidacy for the Puchong parliamentary seat to represent the Friends of Barisan Nasional (BN) as an appreciation of the party's unwavering loyalty to BN over the past 46 years. .

He said that when 10 Friends of BN parties left BN when the coalition lost in the 14th General Election (GE14), Kimma and three other parties remained loyal to BN.

"We (KIMMA) never pushed to get a seat to contest in every election, but we just want to faithfully serve the people with BN, I think that's why the BN chairman gave us a seat in this election, this is a credit to KIMMA," he told Bernama here today.

For the first time Friends of BN parties have been given the trust to contest in GE15

Besides KIMMA, Malaysia Makkal Sakti Party (Makkal Sakti), Indian Progressive Front (IPF) and Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) are Friends of BN parties.

Apart from Syed Ibrahim, yesterday, BN Chairman and Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi also announced Makkal Sakti president Datuk R. S. Thanenthiran as the coalition's candidate for the Nibong Tebal parliamentary candidate and T. Loganathan from IPF for the Jelutong seat.

Razalif Mohamad Zain from PCM was named as the candidate for the Bukit Bendera seat.

Previously, Ahmad Zahid had expressed his commitment that Friends of BN parties would be given the opportunity to contest in GE15.

Nomination is on Saturday (Nov 5), early voting on Nov 15 and polling on Nov 19. - BERNAMA
