KUALA LUMPUR - Umno is contemplating an action that would be taken against any party member found to have practiced "cah keting" (sabotage) after they are not nominated as a candidate for the 15th General Election (GE15).

Its secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said the leaders who were not listed in the election should help the candidates who will be contesting like how they were previously assisted by the party machinery.

He said this when asked about the possibility of elements of sabotage occurring among party members who were not nominated to represent BN for GE15.

"If they previously won for multiple terms with help from the party machinery, I am confident that they would be able to help the BN candidates this time.

"This is the tradition in Umno," he said when met after the Sinar Live programme entitled "Calon Umno: Parti atau Diri Sendiri" on Wednesday.

Commenting on several Parliamentary seats replaced by new faces in GE15, Ahmad said the decision was an effort towards the rejuvenation of the party.

"The act of fielding new faces is not the first time it happened in elections," he said.
