KOTA KINABALU - Warisan President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal expressed concerns over anti-hopping laws not implemented in Sabah.

"We have prepared a letter of oath but they could still party hop as the Bill was not passed.

"In Bugaya there are those who are eligible, my concerns is that later what would happen to the YB gets an offer after winning Nov 19 polls.

"I am worried, I am not even sleeping enough," he said in a press conference after announcing Warisan candidates for GE15, today.

He said the Bill would be implemented if Warisan successfully takes over the reins of the Sabah government.

"Our problem to manage was the people's situation, not who is hopping or who isn't. Insya-Allah if we win, we will ensure the Bill would be implemented as soon as possible," he stated.

Shafie announced Jamil Hamzah, 43, a syariah lawyer as the Bugaya seat candidate to defend the seat held by Warisan after its incumbent Datin Manis Muka Mohd Darah died in November 2020.
