IPOH - Pakatan Harapan (PH) has given the assurance that DAP will not control the coalition party if they formed a government after winning the 15th General Election (GE15).

Its Chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said DAP remains loyal coalition partner and respects the country's principles and Constitution.

Anwar said he wanted to bring in new politics and become a leader who represents all races.

"I was asked over concerns of DAP taking control the government. Firstly, the person to become the leader on Nov 20, if PH wins is not Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad but Anwar.

"This is the best opportunity to create new politics, yes Malays are important but to create a new political landscape to be a truly solid Malay, Chinese, Indian, Iban and Kadazan, the country must be built as a team that loves and supports one another.

"The country is rich and if I lead it, I will lead all of the people. That is my answer. Don't worry, DAP will be our loyal partner and they accept this principle," he said in his speech at the Indian Society Ramah Mesra Programme, here, today.

Also present was Perak DAP Vice Chairman M Kula Segaran and Perak PKR Vice Chairman Muhammad Arafat Varisai Mahamad.

Anwar also denied claims that he was a 'tool' for DAP.

"I hope the campaign will be healthy and sane. I am still Malay and a Muslim but I disagree with insulting any race for political interests," he said.
