KUALA SELANGOR - Youths and the lives of Kuala Selangor residents will be the first priority that he will take care of, Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Aziz says.

The Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Kuala Selangor said he was looking forward to expand and protect his support system, first-time voters and the people of Kuala Selangor.

“My vision is to contribute more, emphasise and enforce all these years of work.

“We still have room for improving both livelihoods of people in Kuala Selangor, whether they are fishermen, farmers, small business holders or plantation workers.

“More important for me to address the needs of the young in terms of jobs.

I am working closely with the local authority by involving every year in improving and enhancing further development of Kuala Selangor,” he said when met at candidate nomination day in Dewan Tertutup Kuala Selangor.

BN political party was seen as having the most supporters compared to other three parties namely Pakatan Harapan (PH), Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Pejuang.

When asked about his support base and winning chance in the 15th General Election (GE15), Zafrul stressed that victory in a political party does not rely on the crowd but the trust.

“Winning or losing is not about the crowd or how much they spend, for me the people here (Kuala Selangor) understand who they are searching to help them over the years.

“My challenge is, of course, to make sure my supporter base keeps supporting me and increase my supporting base, especially the youth,” he said.

The journey to form a new Malaysia government for 15th General Election (GE15) started today with the official nomination of candidates held at various nomination centres nationwide.

In Kuala Selangor, hundreds of BN, PN, and PH supporters cheered for their respective candidates with songs and dances to live up the candidates’ spirits.

The supporters at the Kuala Selangor hall arrived as early as 7.30am, and it was tightly monitored by police officers for crowd control.

Here, Tengku Zafrul would contest against Kuala Selangor incumbent MP Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad from Amanah, Pejuang contestant Mohd Shaid Rosli and PN candidate Mohd Noor Mohd Sahar.

The Election Commission (EC) set Nov 19 as polling day and Nov 15 for early voting.
