SHAH ALAM - The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued thunderstorm warning and heavy rain in 11 states till 7pm today.

In a 3.55pm statement, it said states aaffected were Kedah (Sik, Baling and Kulim); Perak (Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Mualim).

East coast states, Kelantan (Pasir Mas, Jeli,Tanah Merah, Machang, Pasir Puteh and Kuala Krai) and Terengganu (Besut and Setiu) were also affected.

Others were Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh Maran, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan and Rompin); the entire Selangor state; Kuala Lumpur; Putrajaya; and Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing and Kota Tinggi).

In Sarawak, the areas affected were Sarikei, Meradong), Sibu, Selangau, Mukah, Kapit, Bintulu (Tatau) and Limbang.

Meanwhile, in Sabah, Pedalaman (Beaufort), Pantai Barat (Kota Belud), Tawau (Lahad Datu) and Kudat (Kota Marudu) were also in the list.
