KUALA LUMPUR - Three Umno members contesting on Perikatan Nasional (PN) and independent ticket in the 15th General Election (GE15) are part of unhealthy democracy, said party leader Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani.
The Umno supreme council member further said it indirectly reflects their personality.
"Even if I lose, I will remain in BN because, whether we become candidate or not, the important thing is that we understand the party analogy and are loyal."
"If we still have some factors that don't align with us, we need to dive deep, do not become a new candidate to fix it.
"It is not part of healthy democracy," he said after being met with residents at the Wirawati Market and Hawker Centre, Kampung Pandan on Saturday.
So far Arau division chief Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim and former housing and local government minister Datuk Seri Ismail Abd Muttalib are contesting the Arau and Maran seats under Perikatan Nasional (PN).
Padang Besar Umno chief Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin is running as an Independent candidate in the Padang parliament and Titi Tinggi state seat.
Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has said party leaders those who jump ships will be fired immediately.
