TANAH MERAH - “Assets declaration proves my transparency,” stressed Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Tanah Merah parliamentary candidate Datuk Seri Mohamad Suparadi Md Noor who is contesting as the Pakatan Harapan (PH) representative in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Suprandi, more commonly known as Datuk D said the action aligned with the party’s decision and was a good development for the nation’s political arena to make sure that its leaders were free of corruption.

“This is a good action, so why should we hide it (assets)? I am concerned that if we win the general election, some will claim that our wealth is the proceeds of corruption.

“When we want to become a leader, we must have the courage to declare the number of assets we have,” he told Sinar Harian.

According to him, the total amount of his assets consisted of real estate value in Papua New Guinea which measured 1,000 hectares and 20 per cent were from shares held.

He said if those assets were sold at the market value, it would amount to RM500 million.

“I am not looking for wealth in politics. I already have enough (assets) to live with my family as well as to provide welfare for the villagers.”

I do not need to use my position to accept bribes and increase my wealth. That is the message that I want to deliver to the people.
