SHAH ALAM - Former PKR deputy president Tian Chua said that he was never part of the Sheraton Move in 2020.

He said Bersatu leaders were scheduled to hold a press conference the morning of the event to announce whether they would remain in or leave Pakatan Harapan (PH).

“I was there just to find out what was the final conclusion of Bersatu,” he during an interview with Sinar Daily's Fireside Chat.

He said he left the hotel after learning that former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was no longer with PH.

“I think this is quite unfair to continue to spin the story that I was part of the Sheraton Move.

The political crisis, Sheraton Move, caused the collapse of the PH government and Dr Mahathir's resignation after 22 months of leadership in Feb 2020.

The PH federal administration was replaced by the coalition led by Muhyiddin, including members of the Barisan Nasional (BN) parliament.

The Covid-19 pandemic amplified the political turmoil throughout 2020 and into 2021.

This year, Tian Chua is running an independent candidate in a 10-cornered contest for the Batu parliamentary seat.
