SHAH ALAM - Bus companies recorded higher ticket sales from Nov 16 to 18 as Malaysians travel back home to vote.

Bus operator Siti Noizan Hasan said all buses are fully booked.

“Same goes to southern states. All tickets have been sold out,” she told Sinar Daily.

Another bus operator, Saiful Missuwal said majority of her passengers were university students.

“They quickly bought the tickets after polling date was announced.

“Most of them buy tickets online platforms,” he said.

They are waiting for additional buses to cater for rising demand.

Saiful said the company will be making almost 15 trips per night during the election season.

“Hence if the bus companies have additional trips, I think there are still people who will buy the tickets especially for those going to the east coast,” he said.
