SANDAKAN - A commotion unfolded during Warisan's Batu Sapi parliamentary constituency candidate Alias Sani's campaign which was also attended by the party's president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

The incident occured when supporters of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) was said to have purposely attended the programme.

It is understood that the attendance of those supporters during Warisan's campaign in Kampung Sundang on Tuesday morning made Warisan's supporters furious.

A video of the incident went viral on social media when Warisan supporters later maintained that it was a programme held by Warisan and GRS supporters were not supposed to be there.

Meanwhile, in a separate video, a man believed to be a GRS supporter suddenly shouted "undi GRS" (vote for GRS) during the programme.

However, GRS candidate Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan in a statement denied that such commotion had occured and said the incident which went viral was merely a game of sentiment.

“No disturbance actually ensued, only a game of sentiment that was turned into an issue.

“I hope we will hold campaigns for the 15th General Election (GE15) and approach the people in a peaceful and transparent manner.
