SHAH ALAM – Pejuang candidate for Shah Alam seat Rafique Rashid has promised not to take his first three months pay if elected in the 15th General Election (GE15).
He said the money from the salary would be used specifically to start a fund to help young people under the parliamentary to start online business.
"Our young people should be given a chance. It's so hard to find a job now. So, we have to help them from various angles and this is probably a bit of a contribution from me. That's among my personal manifestos," he said.
He said this during Sinar Live programme by Hazwan Mokhtar and broadcasted live on all Sinar Harian digital platforms.
Rafique is in a four-cornered fight against BN's Isham Jalil, Azli Yusof (PH) and Dr Afif Bahardin (PN).
In the meantime, despite admitting other candidates are seen as more experienced in politics, he remains confident in the message and offer he puts forward to voters in the constituency.
"We want to bring about political reform so that it must be a source of power to do good to the people," he said.
