GE15: KJ tells curious Sg Buloh residents 'I am not a yes man'

SHAH ALAM – Sungai Buloh Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Khairy Jamaluddin says he is not a yes man to his party but admits he is a loyalist.

During his meet and greet with Sungai Buloh residents at Bukit Rahman Putra Club yesterday, he told the residents that admittedly, he was not Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi’s favourite person.

"We all know that. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not about to jump anywhere," he said.

Khairy said that he believed his loyalty remained with the coalition as he had aspirations for BN and wanted it to be reformed.

"I do not want my party to be known as a party with court clusters.

"I heard a lot of ‘you vote for BN, you will get Zahid as prime minister,’ but we made it very clear Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri will be prime minister," Khairy said.

In addition to his loyalty, he gave his word that he would not meddle in court cases that were associated with the coalition.

"You have my word if I get elected again and if I become minister, if there are any attempts to sever the judicial process or to drop cases, I will be the first to object because I don’t think we should interfere.

“That is my promise to you," he told the residents.

Khairy is currently embroiled in a seven-cornered fight in Sungai Buloh for the 15th General Election after the constituency had previously been in the hands of Pakatan Harapan in the last three elections.
