Najib is a gentleman, smart on economic issues, says Shah Alam BN candidate

SHAH ALAM - Datuk Seri Najib has a good heart and is particularly smart when it comes to economic issues, claims Shah Alam Barisan Nasional ( BN ) candidate, Isham Jalil.

In a new episode of Politically Frank, Isham said he had learned a lot about politics from Datuk Seri Najib " I was a government servant for many years, and I supposed he was my mentor in politics. I really appreciate him for that," he said.

He went on to say that despite being imprisoned, the incarcerated former Prime Minister is still a friend of his.

"I was working for him for quite a number of years. After we lost in 2018, I am still his friend until today.

"Although he is not around, he is still my friend," he added.

Isham went on to say that BN has not been the same since Najib was imprisoned and that the coalition is better when Najib was present.

"For the last four years, he has been very effective in campaigning for Barisan Nasional.

"We won a lot of elections. By-elections and state-elections. We missed him this time around.

"If he is out campaigning for us now, maybe that would increase our chances," Isham told Sinar Daily.

Isham Jalil, who is also an Umno Supreme Council Member, will be contesting for the Shah Alam parliamentary seat in a four-cornered fight among new faces for the upcoming 15th General Election.

Isham previously worked in government and government-linked companies for over 20 years, and this will be his first time contesting in Shah Alam.
