SHAH ALAM - Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan announces the temporary suspension at all positions at the branch, division and head level for two of their Wanita division chiefs.
He said the suspension towards Umno Wanita Leader for Arau division Datuk Shamsiah Yasin and Umno Wanita Leader for Maran division Datin Seri Fatimah Kassim is in line with Clause 10.15 of the party’s constitution.
“The suspension is in accordance with Clause 10.15 of the Umno Constitution since there is a valid complaint on both Wanita division leaders’ conduct, attitudes and tendencies for directly or indirectly supporting candidates of the opposing party in this 15th General Election.
“Further details and charges will be done in the near future once the complaint against them has been delivered to the Disciplinary Board,” he said in a press statement, today.
It is understood that the action was taken due to their support for Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim and Datuk Seri Ismail Abd Muttalib.
Shahidan who was dropped by Umno will compete as PN candidate to defend the Arau seat, while Ismail who is the incumbent of the Maran parliamentary seat will be contesting the Maran seat on a PN ticket.
Ahmad further added that continuous monitoring will be done against all party members throughout the campaigns for GE15 to ensure that elements of sabotage are non-existent against candidates and the party.
