Covid-19: Malaysia records 2,234 new cases, two deaths

SHAH ALAM - A total of 2,234 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded on Sunday with two of them being imported cases.

According to data from the Malaysian Ministry of Health (KKM) on the KKMNOW portal, S total of two deaths due to Covid-19 were recorded, which brought the total number of deaths in the country to 36,548 cases.

Meanwhile, there were 29,605 active cases of Covid-19 recorded with 27,666 or 93.5 per cent of them being individuals quarantined at home.

A total of 1,848 Covid-19 patients were warded in hospital.

A total of 91 patients were admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) and of that number, 57 patients needed ventilators.

The recovered cases recorded on Sunday were 3,836 cases, bringing the total number of recovered cases of the pandemic in the country to 4,882,664 cases.
