Anwar demands apology, RM10 mil from Sanusi for defamatory remarks

In a letter sent by Anwar's lawyer, SN Nair & Partners today, Anwar gave a period of three days from the date of receipt of the notice to respond to the matter.
If he fails, Anwar will pursue legal action against Sanusi.
In addition, the PKR president also demanded Sanusi to withdraw the defamation claim, a written undertaking not to repeat the same offence as well as pay RM10 million in damages for damaging Anwar's reputation.
"The remark is defamatory against Anwar in the usual and natural sense, on its surface or in any context or otherwise," the letter sent by SN Nair wrote.
In the meantime, according to the letter, Anwar stressed that the allegations were untrue, troubling, strange, misleading and completely unjustified.
He said the allegations made by Sanusi posted under Faizal Azumu’s Facebook attracted more than 81,000 views, 383 comments, 500 reactions and 61 shares at the time the letter of notice was sent.
Clearly, Sanusi's claims, posted on his Facebook account and later published by Malaysiakini, carry implication or implied intent of Anwar abusing his power as an MP, liar, unethical and has betrayed the mandate of the people.
