GM Klang donates RM4,000 worth of necessities to Sinar's flood relief kits

SHAH ALAM - GM Klang donates RM 4,000 worth of necessities to Sinar Karangkraf to support its bid in providing relief to disaster victims.

Its Communications Manager, Nursuhaida Othman, said that when Sinar Karangkraf approached the company to sponsor the #BantuanBencana kits, the company was more than glad to collaborate.

"We already have an allocation for our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes. So, we will support anything that we think can help the local community, especially in the Klang area.

"We are GM Klang, after all, so we want to support our own community."

This collaboration however, was the first as last year, Sinar Karangkraf had already partnered with GM Klang in their flood relief efforts int the #BantuanBencana X Rasuah Busters Mission.

These necessities include towels, torchlights, power banks, biscuits and food.

"We prefer to work with the media because the media is more aware of which areas need help and they already have plans on distribution," said Nursuhaida.

"Like with Sinar Karangkraf, we already know what their objectives are and how they work. For GM Klang, we make CSR an annual activity, its either we do it ourselves or we accept invites to collaborate," she added.

Sinar Karangkraf is targeting to distribute 100,000 #BantuanBencana Kits to flood victims.

The disaster relief effort is expected to begin next week after the 15th General Election.

Corporate bodies are welcome to donate to the Sinar Karangkraf #BantuanBencana Kit Programme.
