PUTRAJAYA - A total of 20,853,681 voters will decide Malaysia's mandate in the 15th General Election (GE15) tomorrow.

The Secretary of the Electoral Commission (EC), Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak said in a statement today that 8,958 polling centres and 38,348 channels were opened with 363,515 officers.

"Voters are advised to go out to vote at the recommended time as stated on the MySPR Check app," he said.

If voters are unable to attend at the recommended time, they will still be able to go out to vote from 8am to 6pm for the peninsular and 7.30am to 5.30pm for Sabah and Sarawak.

"Voters are advised not to go out to vote at the last minute," he said.

According to him, the EC also reminded employers to allow their Malaysian employees to vote as stated under the Election Offences Act 1954.

"The EC also reminds that all parties or candidates are prohibited from opening, constructing or maintaining a ‘pondok panas’ or a place for supporters to gather on polling day as it is an offence under the Election Offences Act 1954," he said.

He said voters, candidates and officers who wish to enter the polling centres are reminded not to wear anything featuring the party's name, symbol or candidate.

"Those who fail to comply with or violate the prescribed provisions may be prevented from entering polling centres by election officials," he said.
