PUCHONG: “This election was called for because Zahid and his cronies may be terrified of going to prison for all their corruption cases,” said PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.

Nik Nazmi was referring to Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who is currently in defence against 47 charges, including alleged criminal breach of trust of RM31 million belonging to charitable foundation Yayasan Akalbudi, which the latter led.

He then said that the opposition party Perikatan Nasional only knows how to play up racial sentiments which have caused detrimental effects on the rakyat.

“Do not continue to buy into their racial sentiments, it will just allow our country to move backwards,” he said here during a ceramah PH.

Nik Nazmi then said that though many think tanks are predicting a PH government come Sunday, the public would still need to go out to make this happen.

“We have proven that we have the power to change the future of the country in 2018, but were dethroned because of pengkhianat (traitors) after 22 months,” he said.

“So go out tomorrow and vote for the future of the country.”

Nik Nazmi is currently the Setiawangsa incumbent. He won the seat in 2018, beating his competitors from BN and PAS with a majority of 14,372 votes.
