GE15: Mahathir casts vote in Kuala Kedah

ANAK BUKIT - Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad arrived at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Titi Gajah, here, at 10.52am to vote in the Kuala Kedah parliamentary constituency.

He arrived with his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali with a cheeful spirit despite being busy fulfilling the 15th General Election (GE15) campaign schedule.

Before arriving at the polling centre, the incumbent Langkawi Parliamentary seat candidate visited the Ayer Hangat and Kuah state assembly polling centres in Langkawi.

Mahathir, 97, who was also Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) chairman voted at 10.55am.

After Mahathir voted, he was scheduled to visit the Kepala Batas and Kampung Naga district voting centres before returning to Kuala Lumpur.

The Kuala Kedah Parliamentary seat will witness a five-cornered clash involving incumbent Dr Azman Ismail (Pakatan Harapan), Ulya Aqamah Husamudin (Pejuang), Datuk Dr Mashitah Ibrahim (Barisan Nasional), Dr Ahmad Fakhruddin Fakhrurazi (Perikatan Nasional) and Syed Araniri Syed Ahmad (Warisan).

There were a total of 132,500 eligible voters in the Kuala Kedah parliamentary constituency in GE15.

In GE14, the seat was won by Dr Azman Ismail with a majority of 13,481 votes.
